Friesian Versatility. Friesians are a very recognizable breed due to the breed standards, however, every Friesian is different as well. On this page we share how we make our ca. 15 KFPS Friesians & 33 years in the breed available to others to share our knowledge and the Friesian's versatility. There is a match for everyone. We love their intelligence, big heart, ease of use, and spunk. Come enjoy them at our peaceful, Texas country ranch.

Lessons

If you would like to experience what it's like to ride Friesians and/or learn more about English/dressage riding & the events/training we do with our Friesians, come on out for a lesson.

We saddle up on average 3 Friesians to mix and match. Sessions tend to take about 2 hours but this can be sped up if you are in a hurry or if you are having fun we can take more time.

Lessons are $45.- per person or buy a packet of 5 lessons; pay for only 4 lessons and receive 1 free. The packages can be shared, transferred, and are valid for a whole year from date of purchase. First-time visitors receive a visitor packet and we take a souvenir picture.

Lessons start in the indoor arena but once comfortable and able we quickly go outside and even on the trail track. E-mail us to make your appointment and for more info. Return to top of the page.

Rides

Like with the lessons you may want to experience riding a Friesian but for one reason or another you have never ridden, became insecure, maybe you haven't ridden in forever or are out of shape. We have some really kind Friesians and encourage you to let us help you and guide you along. We get people to ride who never thought they would.

The same affordable rate and time schedule applies like under the Lesson section. First-time visitors receive a visitor packet and we take a souvenir picture.

Rides start in the indoor arena but once comfortable and able we can move the boundaries and ride outside. E-mail us to make your appointment and for more info. Return to top of the page.

Therapeutic

We are not an official therapeutic facility as we do not want to deal with the admin structure & forced set-up that takes on for a private farm like ours, however, horses BY NATURE are therapeutic and many people can benefit from that. We guide the ride when riding is an option as well as grooming/petting/relaxation time. Set a chair out in the pasture, listen to the trees and wildlife, feed carrots, sit by a stall, read a book in a country setting.

The same affordable rate and time schedule applies like under the Lesson section or book it as a retreat (see below). First-time visitors receive a visitor packet and we take a souvenir picture.

Rides start in the indoor arena but once comfortable and able we can move the boundaries and ride outside. E-mail us to make your appointment and for more info. Return to top of the page.

Retreats

Depending on what a retreat means to you it can be like boot camp or it may mean complete quiet, spending time with the horses, reading from the library, an afternoon nap in the hay, outings to our quaint surroundings; your pick. Immerse yourself in riding lessons on Friesians, learn hands-on about any topic such as: the KFPS Friesian, training, health & management, farm life & set-up, the equine industry or simply veg, wake up with the rooster, pet the dog and enjoy great Texas weather and our marvelous Friesians.

Shopping Consults

Shopping around is important for anything people need or want. We advise you to shop around. Wherever you end up buying, whatever breed or maybe not at all; we have a really neat variety of Friesians here (a herd of 15 of all ages, types, and genders) with 3+ decades breed experience that we invite you to tap into without a sales pitch but rather with well balanced input on both the pro and con sides.

Such an outing can be in the form of a farm visit, lesson or maybe a private getaway (such as boot camp or a retreat) so check through the page index for the right format and rate for you. Return to top of the page.

Breed Info & Farm Visits

Maybe you are not interested in riding but you want to learn about the breed, visit the farm and the horses, and ask questions about anything Friesian-horse-equine industry-farming related. To that end we offer farm visits, also with visitor packet, a photo souvenir, and an average run time of 2 hours based on your schedule. The rate is $25 p.p. E-mail us for appointments and more info. Return to top of the page.

Staff/Company Training

If you want your farm's staff to learn from us and all the many tasks that involves and we pretty much do completely ourselves, we offer training sessions that can be booked per full day to shadow, learn, ask questions, and participate in lots of hands-on. Any topic can be talked about and think of things such as: stallion handling, hoof trimming, health & management of a herd, training, property set-up, etc.

The rate is $200 p.p. p.d. E-mail us for more info and bookings. Return to top of the page.

Boarding to board/train/sell

We offer boarding either to simply board or to board with training (incl. keuring prep and showing) or to board for the purpose of selling (consignment). We do not offer straight pasture board fyi. Our horses are mostly outside but also get taken in for bad weather. Read about the Facility below (or click here) and e-mail us for rates, info, and availability. Return to top of the page.

Farm Workshops & Events

In addition to private appointments as listed on this page we also offer several scheduled events at the farm, and we attend many outside events as part of our horse-training program.

In 2014, we offer six workshops at the farm. So unlike a private appointment, these are organized, pre-set dates for enthusiasts to come out and enjoy a fun workshop on certain Saturdays throughout the year from noon to 5 p.m. on different topics each time along with open q&a and lots of hands-on, riding time. Then there are the summer day camp days, and we attend various outside events such as dressage shows, parades, rodeos, etc.

For schedule and details click here for the Workshops & Events page. Return to top of the page.

Friesians for Sale

As much as we love and enjoy our Friesians, we are not a museum, and most of the Friesians are for sale to make a new owner happy and that we may train the next horse. Should you like one of the horses let us know. The boarded client horses-for-sale are highlighted and our priority. You may find them all on the Friesian Herd page. Return to top of the page.

Photo Shoots

Find various lovely photos on the Stallion page and the Photo Gallery page, including our own glam photos. Book a photo shoot with our Friesians for any occasion: family, product promotion, glamour, commercial/promotional, wedding, holiday, princess, etc. or for photographers a photo shoot for your portfolio with our Rock Star Friesians (click here for the Herd page).

Think about our big herd of Friesians galloping through the country side. How about you all dressed up on or with a Friesian, or a pose by one of our Big'-80s-hair Friesian or video.

For customer photo sessions we can suggest two wonderful photographers or you can take photos yourself/bring in your own photographer. You may do the shoot at our farm, and for an additional travel fee we will consider outside locations.

A site/travel fee will apply for commercial/outside locations and rates depend on the occasion (family vs. commercial, open to potential co-operations). Additional regulations may apply to commercial shoots. E-mail us for more information or bookings.
