Friesian Nutrition and Health
Hay Hay is the main staple in our Friesians' diet. We have a big hay barn, filled each summer with high-quality hay so we have lots to feed our large Friesian herd even during bad times. They thrive on it. Part of this quality inventory we make available for sale @ $75.- per bale (discount applies to multiple bales) and we educate on Friesian nutrition & management (see Workshops & Events page) as well as during private visits (see the Lesson & Visit page). The hay is baled in large bales (3' x 4' x 8', moved/loaded with our tractor, bring your own trailer), and is fertilized, soft, clean, coastal hay.
Nutrition & Health Care Although hay and turnout is a large part of our Friesian feeding-health care program, we also provide other dietary items and choose not to use others commonly seen. Simplicity and knowing/observing your horse is key. No less important is the horse's mental and environmental management along with preventative care. With over 3 decades in the breed in Holland and various climates in the USA we have built up an excellent health-management-sport record with happy horses in shape. Connect with us to tap into our knowledge.
